Painted in fiery reds, oranges, and yellows, a bright-eyed industrial worker stares at the audience and states, “"Have you developed a counterplan for the first year of the tenth five-year plan?" This poster was made for the twenty-fifth Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and refers to the idea of “counterplans,” which were plans put forth by groups of workers meant to surpass economic expectations of state plans. Counterplans created essential competition in the Soviet Union.
