Chinese Cultural Revolution porcelain vase, glazed red and black with a soldier and a young worker reading The Selected Works of Mao Zedong. To the left of the soldier it reads "Code of Conduct to Loving the People," and to the right of the worker it reads "Code of Conduct to Supporting the Army," suggesting a mutual relationship of love and support between the army and the people. On the back of the vase it reads "Support the Army and Love the People," suggesting that for the people it is their civic duty to support the army, and for the army it is their civic duty to love the people. On the bottom it reads "the Revoluntionary Committee of the Porcelain Insistute, the Light Industry Department of Jingdezhen, China."
